CKM conference in Santiago de Compostela 2023

© Agnieszka Dziurda

A CKM conference was held in Santiago de Compostela from September 18 to 22, and Quentin Führing participated. The conference was the 12th of its kind dealing with measurements on the unitarity triangle. Physical processes involving neutrons, kaons, charm and beauty hadrons, top quarks and lepton flavor violating Higgs were covered in theory and experiment. There were about 150 talks in total on current topics in flavor physics.

Quentin Führing gave a talk on "Decay-time-dependent measurements of the CKM angle γ at the LHCb experiment", with particular focus on the results of the Bs2DsK Run2 analysis, which were recently published in ConferenceNote form. The analysis obtained a measured value of (74±11)° for the angle γ, which is closer to the previous global average of about 66° than the result previously measured with Run 1 data. In addition, Thomas Letham (Warwick) presented the results of the sin2beta measurement by Vukan Jevtic.

In addition to the various presentations, the old city could be explored. There were also several excursions to Cape Finisterre, various villages in the area, and the Fervenza do Ezaro waterfall.

More information about the lectures and other program items can be found in the related Indico entry.
